![]() Basically, the vast majority of your game time on modern would be as a level 200 character, as opposed to retro where once you get to 200 you probably won't continue to do that much - unless you're into PvP. But in modern, you get to max lvl much more quickly, and most level 200 players have not experienced a whole bunch of the content in the game. Modern has significantly more content than retro, Modern's end-game in particular has more than tenfold the end-game of retro.īasically in retro by the time you get to 200, and probably way before that, you would've experienced all the game has to offer many, many times. That means that if you're playing a single character - you'll be spending much more of your time trying to get groups to do content than you would in modern dofus. And prospecting/number of characters directly affects your rate of progression. The number of monsters in dungeons doesn't adapt to your team size in retro. Modern is more solo-friendly, and optimal for 4man teams, retro is optimal for 8 man teams. And of course, some classes are not even available in retro. Class mechanics are also extremely simplistic, there's no point in even comparing the skill ceiling difference for most classes. In retro the monster abilities themselves are extremely simple to manage, and the fights are usually lengthy in comparison to modern. Retro is extremely simple, from a mechanics perspective in comparison to modern dofus.Main things to keep in mind when choosing between retro and modern from a PvM view: Though the nostalgia inducing art doesn't hurt. If players were able to choose their preferred version, I expect you would've found very little 1.29 fans. Players choose them not because of 1.29, but because they're not post 2.0 dofus (and 2.7, 2.42 etc.). Version 1.29(.1) is merely the last patch that predates Dofus 2.0 - and that's what the retroservers are about. ![]() ![]() Nothing about 1.29 in particular is interesting. ![]()
